The American Club
Once a dormitory for immigrant employees with a pub, bowling alley and barbershop, The American Club reemerged in 1981 as a full-service hotel. Today this Tudor-style redbrick building welcomes guests with gracious hospitality that has earned a Forbes Five-Star and AAA 5-diamond rating. Adjacent to The American Club, the Carriage House is home to the Kohler Waters Spa™ and offers the same renowned service in more contemporary surroundings.
It is conveniently situated 50 minutes north of Milwaukee and 50 minutes south of Green Bay, and only two and 1/2 hours north of downtown Chicago, just two-thirds of a mile west of Interstate 43 (I-43). Transportation from airports from Milwaukee, Chicago and Green Bay can easily be arranged.
The hotel property has everything for the discerning traveler: World-Class golf in Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run — site of multiple PGA Championships, US Women’s Opens and the 2020 Ryder Cup; The Forbes Five Star Kohler Waters Spa, one of only 30 spas in the world with such designation; a 500-acre nature preserve with many outdoor recreational pursuits offered; the Kohler Design Center, a salute to the products designed by Kohler Company and an ideal reception venue; an enormous sports center and racquet club with 12 tennis courts, two pools and the latest exercise equipment; 10 unforgettable full service restaurants with varied offerings and price points; and boutique shopping at the Shops at Woodlake Kohler. More importantly, each of the 241 rooms within the American Club has been outfitted in the Tudor style, along with state-of-the-art Kohler whirlpool tubs in each bathroom, details that make this hotel rise above the rest.
