Italian Romance, Vegas Energy
Las Vegas of the 1990s was a city of transformation. Spurred on by a period of economic growth, the city welcomed nearly a dozen large-scale resorts between 1990-1999, turning the Strip into the glitzy, upscale themed-entertainment destination it is today. It was amidst this boom that The Venetian Resort Las Vegas opened its doors, bringing a little bit of Venice to Vegas.
The resort’s distinctive look — including ceiling frescos and floating gondola rides along the Grand Canal — recall its namesake city, bringing to life the idea that this is “where the warmth of Venice meets the thrill of Vegas.” Adding to its appeal, the resort’s suites are the largest standard rooms on the Strip. Its guest amenities include the two-level Canyon Ranch Spa and one of the largest restaurant collections in Las Vegas, solidifying its presence as a luxury icon.
“As the City of Venice Evolves, So Does the Venetian Resort.”
With those words, The Venetian Resort unveiled its ambitious property-wide renovation in 2024. At $1.5 billion, it is the largest and most extensive hotel renovation in history, touching every part of the brand from its logo to its 4,000-plus guest suites, new restaurants, gaming space, and more. The resort further doubled down on its reputation as a destination built for business and dedicated $188 million to a refresh of their convention center.
The announcement followed the late-summer 2023 launch of Sphere at The Venetian — the world’s largest spherical structure — an architectural wonder over 360 feet tall with a 580,000 SF fully programmable LED exterior. Inside, guests take in wall-to-wall views from a 160,000 SF LED display with a whopping 16000 x 16000 resolution.
By summer 2025, The Venetian Resort was ready to reveal the initial efforts of its transformation. Once more paying homage to Venice, the resort opted for a sophisticated aesthetic, inspired by the city’s notable style and history, with a neutral palette and modern Italian touches.

A Convention Center with a Global Reputation for Its Size and Style
As one of the largest private meetings facilities in the world, The Venetian Convention & Expo Center was redesigned to look every bit as grand as its reputation. Now sporting a palette of cream, white, and platinum, with contrasts of rich blue and caramel, it sports a modern, elegant layout. Menus, furniture, audio and video enhancements, and new digital screens all add to the refreshed and renewed convention experience.
Technical upgrades include high-tech panels powered by Creston (for more lighting control and audio-visual capability), and new digital signage further engages attendees with event details and branding opportunities. The improved Wi-Fi system also ensures guests stay connected while moving between both hotels, The Venetian and The Palazzo, The Venetian Expo, and all meeting spaces — all 2.3 million SF of space.

Stripped Down to Studs: Remodeled Suites Borrow from Italian Artistry
As detailed in an interview with Travel + Leisure, The Venetian’s 4,000-suites were re-envisioned as spaces that combined the comfort and luxury of a residence with the technology and over-the-top amenities expected of rooms of this caliber. On the top floors are The Venetian’s Signature Suites: a collection including penthouses, presidential suites, and the opulent chairman suites with features such as theater rooms, saunas, poker tables, Tonal gym equipment, custom-colored pianos, and private bars.
The newly remodeled Luxury King Suite at The Venetian
“There’s a suite for every kind of traveler,” CEO Patrick Nichols told Travel + Leisure. “Whether you want something energetic and fun, or timeless and elegant, we’ve got it.”
Pulling it all together is a décor and art borrowed from the rich dark hues, plush fabrics, and shining accessories of Venice’s renown Carnival. Imagine Murano glass-inspired bars with thick, textured drapes, marbled bathrooms, and embroidered leather chairs — elegant Italian artistry at its most decadent.

New F&B and Venues Offer Subtle Sophistication & Over-the-Top Allure
Throughout its interior renovation, The Venetian Resort never stopped launching new and innovative culinary concepts and venues. In addition to Sphere at The Venetian’s opening, the resort opened cabaret-style lounge Voltaire and The Palazzo Theatre (newly redesigned), which offers guests versatile seating options, including standard theatre seats, plush banquettes, and cocktail tables, perfect for a magic show, late-night comedy, or a Vegas keynote.
Smaller receptions and gatherings of up to 48 guests will find the 40-plus hospitality parlors, suites, and studios, including The Stella Studio, a multi-functional space at The Palazzo, to be well-appointed with tailored amenities for their use.
Among the restaurants recently opened at The Venetian Resort are:
- Gjelina: a “produce-forward” restaurant providing locally sourced, sustainable cuisine
- Two steak restaurants: Bazaar Meat by José Andrés and COTE, America’s first and only Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse
- Nomikai: sushi and speakeasy serving rare Japanese whiskey
- Sala 118: bespoke cocktails and a vibe inspired by Venice’s 118 islands
- Close Company: playful signature cocktails with a relaxed speakeasy vibe
- Via Via Food Hall: the best of East and West coasts foodie hotspots
So much has already been revealed at The Venetian Resort, and yet there is still more to be unveiled. Expect the final stages of the convention’s renovation to be completed in 2026.
